If you love driving and tend to overspeed, getting speeding tickets must be one of your worst nightmares. While, it is important that one drives safely, not bend the laws and know when to slow down, getting a speeding ticket every now and then can get annoying.
Police officers since years have been using a simple radar gun to detect if a vehicle is over speeding. A simple solution to avoid getting a ticket is to install a radar detector in your vehicle. This simple device notifies you if there is an officer is around with a radar gun.
And so it gives you a warning to slow down and avoid getting that speeding ticket.
What is a Radar Detector?
It is a simple device which can be easily installed within the vehicle. With a radar detector, one can determine if their vehicle is being monitored by a radar gun for speeding. Though a radar detector has evolved over the years, it still can only detect Doppler radar based units.
However, it is still perfect for watching out if the vehicle is under the Police scanner for speeding or not.
How Radar works?
Radar which is an acronym for Radio Detection and Ranging works on the simple logic of sending and receiving radio signals.
When a Police officer has aimed a Radar gun towards you, the Radar detector’s antenna which acts as a transmitter will send out radio signals which are similar to light but have a much lower frequency. And when it receives a reflection, the same antenna acts also as a receiver and displays the changes on the detector.
So when your vehicle is approaching a radar gun, the radio signals from your radar detector will identify the radio waves sent out by the radar gun and will notify it on the radar detector.
This gives you enough prior warning to slower down your vehicle and gives yet another speeding ticket a miss.
